Who am I?
I am simply someone who wants to help.
I am nobody famous. You will not have seen my face all over social media. I am just a shy, unremarkable, everyday person trying to lead the best life possible. I have dedicated my life to learning as much as I can about issues that affect me and the people around me so I can offer hope, peace, and happiness to those who want help living their best life possible.
My goal is to present the knowledge and experience I have gained in a format that resonates with people, because I know how confusing, overwhelming, and frustrating it can be trying to weed through all of the information that is available, especially when an author loads up on lots of sciencey jargon to try to add legitimacy to whatever they are saying. My personal opinion is that I do not need to know how electricity works or where the electricity comes from to know that when I turn on a light switch, the light comes on. I also do not need to see 10 peer-reviewed scientific studies to prove that turning on a light switch will make a light bulb come on! So, I want to strip things down and try to teach you about wellness without bogging you down in the details.
That being said, I am not just somebody who sat down one day and decided to write programs on wellness without any relevant background. My holistic health journey started when I received my Honours Degree in Psychology from the University of Regina back in the late 90's. I have spent much of my adult life learning all that I can about health, wellness, and the human mind and applying my knowledge wherever I can.
I am a Certified Hypnotherapist registered with the National Guild of Hypnotists. I have also received continuing education diplomas in Stress Management and Relaxation Therapy, and a certificate in Guided Imagery.
I am a pain management specialist with a diploma in Holistic Pain Management and a certificate in Hypnosis for Pain Management (Moderate Sedation Course).
I am a graduate of Gabby Bernstein's Spirit Junkie Masterclass which nurtured my desire to live my highest purpose and to make an impact on the world by teaching, healing, and serving with honesty, integrity, and compassion. I look forward to sharing with you my passion for helping people become the best version of themselves.
I have spent thousands of hours reading, studying, learning, and practicing the teachings of my many mentors and sources of inspiration, including Gabby Bernstein, Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, Bob Proctor, Milton Erickson, Dave Elman, Buddha, the Dalai Lama, Jay Shetty, Eckhart Tolle, Thich Nhat Hanh, and many of the great cognitive and behavioural psychologists in history too many to list here. While I do not always agree with everything each person has said or represented, I believe they have all added something to the person I have become and the passions I now pursue.
If you follow these and other healers, many of the concepts in these programs may be familiar to you. However, I feel it is all about language, delivery, and connection. Many of my inspirations did not teach all their own ideas either. They often took ideas and concepts they themselves had learned from their own mentors and inspirations and packaged everything into something that for some reason resonated more with me. While hearing it coming from one person may not have made sense to me, when it was presented in a different way by someone else, it just impacted me in a way it had not before. I hope I can do the same thing for you.
Thank you for sharing in my journey.
